I live in a 1050 sq. ft. apartment, so space is at a premium. I decommissioned my last desktop computer, gave away the computer desk, and put the modem, wireless router, external hard drive and Pogo Plug in a 2-shelf box on top of a dresser in the second bedroom. The all-in-one printer fits next to it. I needed something to run backups on the 1 TB hard drive so we don't lose our "stuff." I didn't want to tie up my laptop or my wife's laptop for extended periods. I didn't want another desktop machine. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I bought a refurb netbook. I don't want to leave it on the dresser top all the time, so I needed something for safe storage in a closet. (Little did I know I'd be "taking it on the road.")
This bag is perfect! It protects my netbook very well, with little risk of scratching it with zipper teeth or zipper pull. There's enough room for the power cord and transformer, an external DVD/CD drive, an extension cable for the external HDD, a small Bluetooth mouse, and with room to spare. There's also room to spare in the netbook compartment, so it's easy to take along things like a notebook, a "print" book you're reading, an iPad, etc. Just be careful to put it on the "bottom-side" of your netbook to keep the top side scratch-free and buff-free.
At first I thought a shoulder strap was overkill, but I'm enjoying the netbook enough that I sometimes take it with me to the office or the library instead of my laptop. (I never thought THAT would happen.) This bag is protective enough, small enough and convenient enough that it does everything I need it to do and more. The price is unbelievably sensible, making this a high value-to-cost item.
Hey, am I the only one who thinks it's insane that neoprene netbook sleeves are priced at twenty bucks?
