I recently bought this as a gift for my mothers b-day to go along with the new slr camera I got for her. It looked to be pretty small, but it turns out it's plenty big enough. The main compartment can hold the camera w/the 18-55mm lens connected and two more lenses. As for the four other compartments they can hold the cords, batteries, charger, memory cards, etc. The back pocket is not as big as the other three, but can certainly hold some of the smaller accessories. The strap is also pretty sturdy and comfortable. It's by far not a profesional camera bag, but will be great for the average person.
